Previously, he was a correspondent for The New Republic and has written for The New Yorker, The Village Voice, Harper's Magazine, Playboy, Rolling Stone, Salon.com, Slate, GQ.com, Esquire, Mother Jones and other publications. He was the host of MSNBC's All In With Chris Hayes from 2010 to 2011
He has written two books: Twilight of the Elites: America After Meritocracy (2011) and Hayes' Men: A Journey Through the Furies of Men (2012). His work has been published in The Best American Political Writing series.
